notanewmember
I think we've just seen the low, as the RSi is starting to bounce of 50. No position, but it looks a start of a rally.

drbubb
Right. As I have noted in my Diary, there have been several attempts to put in a Low on Gold, but they have proven to be "one day wonders" with no follow-thru. This is destroying confidence remains in Gold-bulls, and potential gold bulls

notanewmember
Just an observation. The SP500 - one of the biggest stock markets in the world, and my barometer for all other stocks, is having trouble getting away from the 2000 point area. It could other either way, up or down, quite spectacularly. Through most of 2015, it has been acting like a coiled spring. If we look the sister index, the NASDAQ, it looks better at getting away from the 5000 point area. If the NASDAQ leads the SP500, then I would be bullish. notanewmember
Another Brit in trouble. Convicted Libor trader Tom Hayes: the self-confessed scruff 'not motivated' by money .... Despite raking in millions in wages and bonuses, the maths graduate was a self-confessed scruff, who still had the same superhero duvet cover on his bed he had had since the age of eight. While his hedonistic banker colleagues in Japan partied hard with vintage champagne, Hayes preferred to drink cocoa, earning himself the nickname Tommy Chocolate. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financial-crime/11768098/Convicted-Libor-trader-Tom-Hayes-the-self-confessed-scruff-not-motivated-by-money.html
notanewmember
The CRB commodities index is making a lower low - I was temped at looking a platinum miner (UK:JLP), but changed my mind as the metal, a sister stock, the group, and the sector are all pointing downwards. notanewmember
An inverse function of Oil prices? I see that the market views Russia as commodity dependent, so yes if oil goes down, Russia's backing of it's currency and economy looks more shakey. I would like to know if there are any big holders of Roubles - perhaps China? Would they dump their holdings to prop up their own markets, and buy USD to keep their Yuan down? I think we'll find out before this year is out.

notanewmember
Jim Rogers was right. China are going through what the USA did in the roaring 20s: This is from WIKI - Dow crash 350 - 200 = 150 150/350 * 100 = 42% drop ---- 5000 - 3500 = 1500pts 1500/5000 * 100 = 30% drop. The Shanghai had a pause for breath, but if we take the peak to now: 5000 - 3000 = 2000pts 2000/5000 *100 = 40% drop!
