The fast-rising pay packages of top-level company directors top the list of the UK's best paid jobs, official figures reveal.

 

Directors and chief executives of major organisations saw their salaries increase by more than 30% to £212,910 to make theirs the best paid job in Britain, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

These salaries get me to think :

* 12000-36000/year ==> £50-£150/day for 250 days work!

 

I am really thinking of becoming a professional trader :lol:

On the other hand it could be one of the most difficult jobs around, it is often reported that 80-90% of day traders lose.

 

So, how many of us would like to be a pro trader?

I've always thought it would be great if you could supplement your main income - work as a consultant some of the time, income from rentals, dividends and some trading - though I dont know how realistic that is...

I think it is realistic if you plan for it. One idea that I am working on is to ultimately reduce my working hours in the day job. The question is whether the income that is currently a supplement to the job can be built up and maintained. Another question is how much in total do you have outgoing each month? If you can live a frugal lifestyle and if you are willing to make some sacrifices I think it is possible. Step one is to sit down and work out how much you need to live on. If in time you build up your skills as a trader and success follows, eventually you may not have to worry about having a day job.
