SOME people are truly suffering, and not just in China

LOCKDOWN: DEPRESSION SETTING IN ON CRUISE...
'Imagine being trapped in your bathroom'...

Coronavirus cases on Yokohama's quarantined cruise ship almost DOUBLE to 136, with 23 Americans now infected, as one passenger warns depression is setting in

  • The Diamond Princess liner has been quarantined in Japan since last Monday
  • Another 66 people are now confirmed to have the virus, taking the total to 136
  • Health authorities are also scrambling to deliver medicine to the passengers

The number of passengers and crew on board is now 3,622, a health ministry official said.

The confirmed virus patients include British honeymooner Alan Steele, who was separated from his wife Wendy and taken to the mainland on Friday.

Today he wrote on Facebook: 'Doctor has given me the set plan of action for my discharge and as long as I pass the tests I will be free on Friday.

'Would have been Thursday but Japan on holiday tomorrow so no one to do the test results.

'Heard bad news on more cases on ship but possible good news is all will now be tested so if you're free of virus they should let you go.'

I thought I posted this already - are you having problems with censorship?

So this conference talked about a simulated pandemic in Oct 2019. Yes, yes convenient timing and have a look at who funds it.

Anyway they have a number of videos that summarise the conference. I suggest you all download them before they are gone using some sort of free youtube converter online http://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/videos.html

Video 3 talks about the financial impacts - go to 5 minutes. The simulation suggests a 11% fall in world GDP in the first year, and 25% fall in the second year. For a frame of reference, the 2008 financial crisis saw a 5% fall in world GDP. 25% fall would be 1929 Great Depression levels.

The Coronavirus Seems to Hit Men Harder Than Women. Why?

5d4c7310-54b0-11ea-b1ff-88ab90d1a539

The coronavirus that originated in China has spread fear and anxiety around the world. But while the novel virus has largely spared one vulnerable group — children — it appears to pose a particular threat to middle-aged and older adults, particularly men.

This week, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention published the largest analysis of coronavirus cases to date. Although men and women have been infected in roughly equal numbers, researchers found, the death rate among men was 2.8%, compared with 1.7% among women.

Men also were disproportionately affected during the SARS and MERS outbreaks, which were caused by coronaviruses. More women than men were infected by SARS in Hong Kong in 2003, but the death rate among men was 50% higher, according to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

Some 32% of men infected with Middle East respiratory syndrome died, compared with 25.8% of women. Young adult men also died at higher rates than female peers during the influenza epidemic of 1918.

A number of factors may be working against men in the current epidemic, scientists say, including some that are biological, and some that are rooted in lifestyle.

When it comes to mounting an immune response against infections, men are the weaker sex.

“This is a pattern we’ve seen with many viral infections of the respiratory tract — men can have worse outcomes,” said Sabra Klein, a scientist who studies sex differences in viral infections and vaccination responses at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

high dose Vitamin C Treatment

>> Clinical trials ongoing in China with high dose Vitamin C for the treatment of severe Covid-2019 infected pneumonia or severe acute respiratory infection (SARI).

(Spearheaded by the global orthomolecular medicine organization, with medical teams in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University).

Link to the NIH study announcement:
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04264533

This is a statement from Dr. Richard Cheng, MD, PhD, physician involved in the trial from the Wuhan research team:

“Early and sufficiently large doses of intravenous vitamin C are critical. Vitamin C is not only a prototypical antioxidant, but also involved in virus killing and prevention of viral replication. The significance of large dose intravenous vitamin C (IVC) is not just at antiviral level. It is acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) that kills most people from coronaviral pandemics (SARS, MERS and now NCP). ARDS is a common final pathway leading to death.

Link to the Dr Cheng’s white paper on “Early Large Dose of VitC as Treatment of Choice for Covid-2019 Pneumonia” of which he is lead author:

http://www.drwlc.com/CN/?p=1790

>>  Professor of medicine Atsuo Yanagisawa, MD, PhD, of the Japanese College of Intravenous Therapy (JCIT) states:

“Patients with acute viral infections show a depletion of vitamin C. Such patients should be treated by adding vitamin C, via oral or IV, to neutralize free radicals, maintain physiological functions, and enhance natural healing.

“The Japanese College of Intravenous Therapy recommends that our 850 physician members stock extra vitamin C vials in case of a pandemic. JCIT recommends intravenous vitamin C (IVC) 12,000 mg to 25,000 mg for acute viral infections. IVC is usually administered once or twice a day for 2-5 continuous days.”

Link to the complete JCIT protocol in English: http://orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v16n07.shtml

>>  BREAKING NEWS: REPORT FROM WUHAN:

A second clinical trial of intravenous vitamin C was just announced in China on Feb. 13th. In this second study, says Dr. Richard Cheng, "They plan to give 6,000 mg/day and 12,000 mg/day per day for moderate and severe cases. We are also communicating with other hospitals about starting more intravenous vitamin C clinical studies. We would like to see oral vitamin C included in these studies, as the oral forms can be applied to more patients and at home." IT's REAL!  Recession "Tipping Point" ahead?  Watch bonds, & 1.90% Yield

Chris Martenson – China Virus is the Real Deal - Get Ready

TLT / Bond etf.... 5yr: 2yr: 1yr: 6mo -vs.GLD: 2yr / Last:

The [coronavirus spread] definitely injects an element of uncertainty into markets for the near term and for the longer term as well,” said Yung-Yu Ma, chief investment strategist at BMO Wealth Management.

Analysts at BofA Global Research said the probabilities of a recession have increased and that is reflected in the action in long-bonds like the 10-year Treasury note and the 30-year Treasury bond, which plunged Friday to its lowest rate on record. Investors will flee to the presumed safety of U.S. government bonds, driving yields lower, with the hope of avoiding losses that can derail riskier assets in a selloff.

The 30-year bond yield TMUBMUSD30Y, +0.00% fell 5.2 basis points on Friday to 1.92%, based on Tradeweb data, to an all-time low of 1.89%. The 10-year note yield TMUBMUSD10Y, +0.00% also tumbled below the key level of 1.50%, last trading at 1.475%. Bond yields move in the opposite direction of prices.

BofA said a move for the 10-year below 1.4% could represent a tipping point for the market, one that raises the probability for a recession, particularly if the Federal Reserve continues to hold benchmark rates at the current 1.50-1.75% range.

Here’s how BofA’s analysts put it (see attached chart): “Indeed, breaking 1.4% in an on-hold context for the Fed creates a significant inversion of the curve, pushes recession signals higher…”

Part of the worry for fixed-income folks is the flattening of the so-called yield curve, which traces the differential between short-term bonds and longer-term debt. Once flat, there is a greater potential for the curve to invert, leaving short-end debt paying out more than longer-dated obligations.

Inversions are seen as a reliable indicator of an economic downturn or recession. And one key measure of that the 2-year note TMUBMUSD02Y, +0.00%, at 1.348%, and the 10-year, at 1.47%, on Friday, stood a narrow 12.2 basis points from inversion—again.

Already, the 3-month T-bill TMUBMUSD03M, +0.00%  at 1.554%, another key yield differential that economists look at when considering recession expectations, has inverted with the 10-year rate.

Gold doing well - $1600+ - new bull run just ahead here.

There's a stock called NCYT on the UK AIM exchange. I believe it is also traded on the French and US OTC market - they supply COVID-19 test kits.

The market cap is still under £100m. Seems a little cheaper than TSLA which has gone crazy right now. But do your own research everyone.

Trump's Buying TIP is worrying in one way: It may show the US is still too complacent.

If there was a 1,000 point drop, because the disease has spread outside China, what will happen to the US market

If we start seeing Clusters pop-up in the USA

We won't see many cases in the US initially because they don't have the ability to test high volumes right now.

SEVERE CASES are falling fast now... if you believe the statistics.

25th: 10,007> 9216 : - 7.9%

26th:   9216 > 8839 : - 4.1%

Problem for the markets is that NON-China cases are jumping now.

Up 71% in just 3 days. A breakout?
