IG REPORT confirms major FBI Wrongdoing

Recommended Posts

READ : IG Report Out…

The Justice Department’s inspector general (IG) report states the FBI possessed an “authorized purpose” to investigate the 2016 Trump campaign, but says the bureau committed a series of wrongdoings in its handling of the operation.

The over 400-page report by Inspector General Michael Horowitz criticizes the FBI for “significant inaccuracies and omissions” in the bureau’s applications to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, stating agents “failed to meet the basic obligation” to make sure their applications were accurate.

“We do not speculate whether the correction of any particular misstatement or omissions, or some combination thereof, would have resulted in a different outcome,” the report said. “Nevertheless, the department’s decision-makers and the court should have been given complete and accurate information so that they could meaningfully evaluate probable cause before authorizing the surveillance of a US person associated with a presidential campaign.”

It specified 17 inaccuracies involving three applications filed under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which may have inflated the bureau’s justification for surveillance against Page, the report said.

Despite the errors, the report concluded the FBI did not act improperly in its activities.

IG Conclusion disputed

…U.S. Attorney Durham Suggests More to Come…

…‘We Do Not Agree’ with Inspector General Conclusion

John-Durham-Bob-Child-AP-640x480.jpg

U.S. Attorney John Durham said Monday that the Department of Justice did not agree with the Inspector General report into the investigation of President Donald Trump’s political campaign.

“Based on the evidence collected to date, and while our investigation is ongoing, last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened,” Durham said in a statement sent to reporters after the release of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report.

The Horowitz report found that there were “serious performance failures by the supervisory and non-supervisory agents” including 17 significant errors in the FISA applications to surveil Carter Page, but said there was no evidence of “intentional misconduct.”

Durham, who continues to investigate the origins of the Russia investigation, said that his investigation would be more robust, including details of actions of people outside the Justice Department.

“Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S.,” he wrote.

Attorney General Bill Barr also stated his skepticism of the Horowitz report conclusion in a statement, noting that FBI officials launched the investigation was based on the “thinnest of suspicions” that were “insufficient to justify the steps taken.”

JOHN SOLOMON: IG Report Lays Out “Incontrovertible Evidence” Obama FBI Misled FISA Court

According to award-winning investigative reporter John Solomon, the DOJ Inspector General’s report into Spygate lays out “incontrovertible evidence” that Obama’s FBI misled the FISA court with false information and omissions.

The IG report is expected to be released Monday at 1 PM ET, however sources have told John Solomon that the lies and omissions were so egregious that Attorney General Bill Barr may actually withdraw the FBI’s application for the FISA warrants on Carter Page that began in October of 2016.

Trump And Key Republicans Are Boiling With Anger Over The Revelations About The Deep State In The IG Report

Big-Brother-Surveillance-Public-Domain-6

by Michael Snyder

The IG report was finally released on Monday, and boy was it a doozy.  It detailed literally dozens of very serious errors committed by the FBI during their investigation of the Trump campaign, and Republican leaders are absolutely outraged about what this report has revealed.  Apologists for the deep state are attempting to characterize these very serious errors as “mistakes”, but if they truly were “mistakes” we are talking about systematic incompetence on a scale that is difficult to comprehend.  Have we really gotten to the point where “the best and the brightest” in federal law enforcement are unable to perform basic tasks competently on a consistent basis?  Of course many top Republicans believe that something far more sinister is going on.  Many of them are entirely convinced that the deep state actually tried to destroy Donald Trump, and they believe that the American people are entitled to answers.

If you want to read the entire thing yourself, it is 476 pages long and you can find it right here.  Ultimately, the IG report concluded that “many basic and fundamental errors were made by three separate, handpicked investigative teams”, and quite a few people could end up losing their jobs over this.  The following comes from USA Today

This sure looks like a CONSPIRACY to remove a lawfully elected Presidents

(the Treasonous bastids should swing.)

The Obama FBI Did Not Interview Sources of Phony Steele Dossier That Falsely Accused President Trump of Being a Russian Agent Until Jan. 2017, After FISA Warrant to Spy on Trump Campaign was Renewed

The FBI did not begin the process of validating information from former British spy Christopher Steele that was used as the basis for false Justice Department and intelligence agency allegations that President Donald Trump and his campaign were Russian agents until Jan. 2017 when it began interviewing Steele’s sources, months after spying warrants had already been obtained on the campaign and renewed after the election.

That is one of the biggest takeaways of the Dec. 9 Justice Department report by Inspector General Michael Horowitz on abuses under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that occurred in 2016.

The Justice Department just took it all on faith. That Steele was an established intelligence agent, that he had a purported track record that made him appear to be reliable and that the hearsay from his sources he relayed was actually true. He had alleged that Trump and his campaign had conspired with Russia on the DNC and Wikileaks hacks with their “full knowledge and support.”

That’s apparently what it took in the Obama administration to get top secret surveillance of the Trump presidential campaign, the opposition party, in an election year. Well-placed gossip from well-credentialed officials. It doesn’t need to be true or even verifiable.

In fact, per Horowitz, no efforts were made to contact Steele’s sources prior to obtaining the spying warrants until after the election and after the surveillance had already been renewed once, in Jan. 2017.  Nor was a lack of corroboration anything more than a speed bump to obtaining the surveillance.

FISA Report Reveals Clinton Meddled In 2016 Election

Contained within Monday's FISA report by the DOJ Inspector General is the revelation that Fusion GPS, the firm paid by the Clinton campaign to produce the Steele dossier, "was paying Steele to discuss his reporting with the media." (P. 369 and elsewhere)

He should FIRE WRAY !

Donald Trump attacks ANOTHER FBI director as he blasts Chris Wray for denying there's an agency 'deep state' targeting him and saying there's no evidence Ukraine meddled in the 2016 election

Donald Trump blasted his FBI director on Tuesday, claiming they must have read different inspector general reports

FBI Director Christopher Wray claimed in an interview Monday that Ukraine did not meddle in the 2016 elections

He also said calling the bureau and its employees part of the 'deep state' is a 'disservice to the men and women who work at the FBI'

'With that kind of attitude, he will never be able to fix the FBI,' Trump claimed of Wray's comments

Horowitz Criticizes FBI’s ‘Failure’ of ‘Entire Chain of Command’ in Trump-Russia Probe

Comments December 11, 2019 Updated:

Inspector General Michael Horowitz, in his first public remarks after releasing a report on the FBI’s FISA investigation, accused top officials in the FBI who oversaw a flawed effort to get the authority to surveil Carter Page, an American foreign policy adviser who worked on President Donald Trump’s election effort.

“We are deeply concerned that so many basic and fundamental errors were made by three separate, hand-picked investigative teams; on one of the most sensitive FBI investigations; after the matter had been briefed to the highest levels within the FBI; even though the information sought through use of FISA authority related so closely to an ongoing presidential campaign; and even though those involved with the investigation knew that their actions were likely to be subjected to close scrutiny,” Horowitz said in his opening remarks.

Horowitz’s report was released Monday as Democrats in the House ramped up their impeachment effort against Trump.

Horowitz concluded that the errors amounted to a failure that implicated the chain of command at the FBI responsible for handling the FISA applications, including senior officials.

“We believe this circumstance reflects a failure not just by those who prepared the FISA applications, but also by the managers and supervisors in the Crossfire Hurricane chain of command, including FBI senior officials who were briefed as the investigation progressed,” Horowitz testified. “Especially in the FBl’s most sensitive and high-priority matters, and especially when seeking court permission to use an intrusive tool such as a FISA order, it is incumbent upon the entire chain of command, including senior officials, to take the necessary steps to ensure that they are sufficiently familiar with the facts and circumstances supporting and potentially undermining a FISA application in order to provide effective oversight consistent with their level of supervisory responsibility.”

Since the only mention of Page in the above dossier is that he was connected to Manafort.

And this was true.

And Manafort is in prison now.

how exactly do you think this document "inflated" the reasons to investigate Page?

Idiot.

If Manafort belongs in prison, Comey & Brennan belong on the gallows for treason.

Carter Page is innocent. And will sue the pants off those who abused him

They all belong in prison.

But that wasn't the question. How do you think the fact stating Carter Page was connected to Paul Manafort inflates the reasons to investigate Carter Page?

This is what you want people to believe?

The report you are quoting specifically says its impossible to say either way.

What lie. exactly. could have meant the fisa warrant would not have been issued against Page?

Carter is innocent, and Manafort was convicted on the same thing that other did (Pedosta brothers?) and got away with.

VERY Uneven justice... and that needs addressing

The SENATE has started a serious investigation - very different from what the Dem's circus in Congress was like

Here's Senator Graham in a fair and detailed opening statement

Graham opens IG hearing with scathing take on FISA report: The system failed

During Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee testimony, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz admitted the FBI engaged in “illegal surveillance” of the 2016 Trump campaign.

When Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) asked Horowitz if the surveillance of Carter Page was unlawful, the IG said he’d “leave that decision to the courts.”

“Let’s put it this way,” Graham rephrased the question, “if you don’t have a legal foundation to surveil somebody and you keep doing it is that bad?”

“Absolutely,” Horowitz replied.

Graham asked, “Is that spying?”

“It’s illegal surveillance. It’s not court-authorized surveillance,” Horowitz explained.

Graham interrupted, saying, “Whatever illegal surveillance means, they did it. So, all this stuff that ‘they didn’t illegally surveil Trump’s campaign.’ They did.”

innocent until proven guilty.

Just like Roger Stone was.

Unlike the court system we do not have to assume innocence. And guilt by association generally works well.

So unless you have something specifically untrue you can now put your finger on, such as something in:

The_timeline_of_Trumps_ties-2f9c5b3d2865

What you are suggesting doesn't really hold water.

Especially when Mueller only concluded there was no proof Trump knew the facts in that image. (never [officially] traced the rosneft money to him personally - although dems are now including bribery in the impeachment case, so still time for that to come up)

Yeah, that was my question. What exactly do you think has been shown to be untrue?

Carter Page wasnt investigated because Trump had underage hos whizzing on his bed.

Confessions over beers are still confessions.

And it "was" all supposed to be secret.

plus Page had his defamation case thrown out.

I'd rather listen to fingernails being scraped down a blackboard than some Americunt crackpot. Russian accents much more pleasurable tones.

Do you have a point or are you just joining her making random noises?

Nothing you have said so far remotely changes a conclusion that Carter Page working for the both the Russian government and members of the Trump administration posed a security risk worth investigating using all available tools.

So if thats what you are going for, you are failing miserably.

Oh really? what possible evidence can exist that working for the both the Russian government and members of the Trump administration doesn't pose a security risk worth investigating using all available tools.

Would love to read it.
