Manafort Trial a Gamble; Flipped to get Podesta?

Recommended Posts

Nothing at all to do with Trump, and more & more people see the WItch Hunt is fake.

When will Mule-r and his merry band be investigated for Obstructing Justice?

===

Mueller's prosecutors called 27 witnesses to testify against Manafort, and submitted more than 350 exhibits.

Manafort's defense team, in contrast, called no witnesses at the trial and introduced just 12 exhibits into evidence.

The jury's verdict in the trial arrived after four days of deliberation.

. . . The charges against Manafort and Gates were connected to their consulting work for a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine, and not to their work on the Trump campaign.

In what world do you live in where Cohan pleading guilty to commiting crimes for Trump (including paying off the girls he raped) is nothing to do with Trump?

It clearly wasn't a coincidence Cohan entered his guilty pleas on the same day Manafort was judged guilty after pleading innocent to enough crimes to put him behind bars for the rest of his life and then some.

clearly a very different world to mine.

Does yours have 6 months holiday a year and AW's too?

Who is Cohan?  Do you mean Michael Cohen?

Notice how now that this jury result is in with over 50% of the charges a "mistrial",

the scumbag Delusional Trump-haters, turn immediately to someone else?

Mule-R is miles and miles away from his original mandate.

For their cover-up of the attempted anti-Trump coup,

He & Risen-Slime should be fed to Raptors on Live-TV

Yes, Micheal Cohen has pled guilty to paying off the underage girls trump raped.

You know, those court cases that you suspended me for mentioning that mysteriously disappeared.

I can give you a hint: You dont buy ostrich coats when doing simple government consultancy.

Not that I'm convinced they'll ever make it public/release the seal. So maybe you will never know.

I repeat: the Manafort trial had Nothing at all to do with Trump,

other than as a minor sideshow, because Mule-R wasted taxpayer money on an irrelevant legal case,

and tried to use Manafort to trap Trump.  A bit zero for Mule-R.

The Fake News moves on to the next sideshow, and apparent "confession" from a guy, Michael Cohen, who has no credibility

actually he said it has nothing to do with collusion.

which is strawman,

This whole case has and has only ever had a minor connection to russia (carter page) and everything to do with muellers as yet incomplete investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, which he made his life goal.

Al Capone was sent down for tax fraud, and the Trump family and friends make the Capones look like honest village people.

Further, Manafort can still take a plea deal, the case against him isn't over yet. And I'd guess he really wants the prosecution recommending he serves his sentances concurrently.

Haha. Sparks, you have an odd way of justifying your trolling.

You always lose the argument, because you are not seeking Truth, just pushing a tired old agenda.

one more time.

Why do you want to keep making this about Russia and Clinton? Both are completely off topic for this thread.

Trump was due to be arrested and spend the rest of his life behind bars well before he declared his presidency.

A former associate of Paul Manafort pleaded guilty to a lobbying crime and agreed to cooperate with the U.S., giving prosecutors access to insights from a longtime international political operative whose Russian business partner has already been indicted in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.

The lobbyist, Sam Patten, 47, admitted that he failed to register in the U.S. as a foreign agent for his work lobbying on behalf of a Ukrainian political party. The nature of his cooperation isn’t clear. Patten worked with Manafort and on Ukrainian campaigns, and reportedly worked on microtargeting operations with Cambridge Analytica.

Patten’s plea agreement also included the suggestion that the Trump Inaugural Committee improperly accepted funds from a foreigner. Patten admitted that he illegally helped a Ukrainian oligarch buy a ticket to Trump’s swearing-in through a straw-man donor, though as part of his cooperation agreement he wasn’t charged.

Kilimnik has been indicted in absentia alongside Manafort on obstruction of justice charges. Manafort, who was one of President Donald Trump’s campaign chairmen, was found guilty this month in Alexandria, Virginia, of tax and bank fraud charges and is being held in jail. He’s due to stand trial in Washington next month on the obstruction charges as well as charges of money laundering and failure to register for his own lobbying work in Ukraine.

Paul Manafort and special counsel reach tentative plea deal: Sources

Quote

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has tentatively agreed to a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller that will head off his upcoming trial, sources familiar with the negotiations tell ABC News.

The deal is expected to be announced in court Friday, but it remains unclear whether Manafort has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors or is simply conceding to a guilty plea, which would allow him to avoid the stress and expense of trial, according to three sources with knowledge of the discussions.

Now That The Russia Collusion Narrative Has Fizzled, Demented Democrat Adam Schiff Wants To Investigate Trump For Money Laundering

The Hill reports:

Dem says he’ll investigate Trump money laundering allegations if House flips

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee says he plans to not only reignite a full-blown Russia probe if the House flips in November, but he will also prioritize investigating the Trump Organization’s ties to Russia.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told The Hill on Wednesday that he specifically intends to look into allegations of Russians laundering money through the Trump Organization.

“There was one issue we were not allowed to look at and the Senate hasn’t been either that concerns me a great deal and that is the issue of whether Russians were laundering money through the Trump Organization and [if] that is the leverage they have over the president,” Schiff said.

“Someone needs to determine whether those allegations are true or they are not. That certainly would be a priority for me.”

After this, it’ll be something else. Schiff’s true goal is to have a permanent shadow hanging over the Trump administration. Don’t forget who he represents:

by saying there was no Trump Russia collusion.

Nolte: Manafort Deal Looks Like Good News for Trump, Terrible News for Democrats

Paul Manafort's cooperation agreement with the special counsel does not include matters involving the Trump campaign, according to a person familiar with the case, @johnson_carrie reports

robert-mueller-profile-Brendan-Smialowsk

/ 2 /

MSNBC’s Cevallos: ‘I Take Issue’ with Assuming Manafort Info ‘Must Relate to Russia’

On Friday’s “MSNBC Live,” MSNBC Legal Analyst Danny Cevallos stated that he takes issue with the assumption that the information Paul Manafort has to offer Special Counsel Robert Mueller “must relate to Russia.”

Cevallos said, “[T]o get to cooperation, he had to convince Mueller and his team, through a proffer, that he still had valuable information to offer. The question is whether or not that information is related to Trump or related to Russia. And I take issue with the assumption that it must relate to Russia. Mueller is investigating things that may arise from his investigation of Russia, and we’ve seen he has the authority to do that. And when you look at those pictures that you put up a few minutes ago, George Papadopoulos, not connected to Russia in his plea. He pleaded guilty to lying. Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying. … Alex Van Der Zwaan, pleaded guilty to lying. Now, of course, when you talk about, is it related to Russia? Yeah, I realize there are two Russian flags in the bottom right corner of the screen. So, the indictments are related somewhat to Russia. But when I look at that screen there, I see one, two, three, four, five faces that arguably had very little, if anything at all, to do with Russia.”

PEDOSTA(s) may now be the Target !

"What if his only way ... is to bring down powerful Democrats?

What if the only way for Mueller to fold-up his witch hunt with any dignity is with the head of a Podesta on that platter?"

BAD FOR GREG CRAIG: His white shoe law firm @SKADDEN_ARPS accepted $4M from MANAFORT through overseas accounts to write whitewash report on YANOKOVYCH while privately expressing doubts about the report & also secretly working more broadly for Yanukovych's pro-Russian regime. pic.twitter.com/j6puIgZwdY

That is “Greg Craig” as in “Greg Craig former White House Counsel to … Barack Obama.”

Naturally, like the good little Democrat he is, Vogel is already trying to rescue Podesta, but here we are, 18 months into the Mueller investigation, two years into the media investigations, and nearly three years into the breathtakingly corrupt FBI’s investigations, and they got nothing.

Wouldn’t it be something if, like the #MeToo movement, this whole Russian Collusion Hoax blew up in the smug face of Democrats?

#MeToo was all about taking down Trump, about making the misconduct allegations against him so toxic he would be forced to resign. But the only people who have lost their reputations and careers are some 150 members of two of the most left-wing institutions in America — the establishment media and Hollywood.

For his part, Mueller has to justify the fact he has allowed a cloud to hang over the presidency for 18 months. What if his only way to do that is to bring down powerful Democrats? What if the only way for Mueller to fold-up his witch hunt with any dignity is with the head of a Podesta on that platter?

Emails give new detail about Mercury, Podesta role in Manafort's lobbying

A letter released by the Justice Department on Thursday appears to show that lobbyists associated with Paul Manafort knew he was working at the direction of the Ukrainian government, even though the lobbyists did not register with the U.S. government as foreign agents until years later.

The letter, dated March 31, 2017, was sent by Heather Hunt, a Justice Department lawyer, to Melissa Laurenza, a lawyer representing Manafort at the time. It was released in response to a public records lawsuit brought by The New York Times.

The letter's release comes days before Manafort is scheduled to stand trial on charges of violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which requires lobbyists who represent foreign interests to register with the Justice Department. Even though his lobbying campaign started years earlier, Manafort did not register for work that he did on behalf of the Ukrainian government and a leading political party until last year.

In the 2017 letter, Hunt told Laurenza that the Justice Department had determined that Manafort and his partner, Rick Gates, should have registered under FARA for their work in Ukraine. She said that determination was based on documents provided by lawyers for two lobbying firms that worked with Manafort, Mercury and the Podesta Group, as well as emails provided by the Podesta Group.

Several of the emails, excerpts of which were included in the letter and which previously had not been made public, raise new questions about why the Podesta Group and Mercury did not initially register with the Justice Department themselves.
