TRUMP's BEST WEEK?

GREAT WEEK*

Hidden by impeachment: One of Trump’s 'best weeks yet'

From adding judges to foreign policy, trade, immigration, defense spending, and China, Trump added several more achievements he will tout when he hosts his next campaign rally, standing in front of a 2020 “Promises Kept” sign.
"It was one of his best weeks yet," said a key White House adviser.
One of his pollsters, John McLaughlin, joked that if public anger at impeachment continues to grow, worried Democrats might get in line to pass more of his agenda to give them protection in their reelections next year.
“Democrats in states and districts the president won are at serious risk if they vote for impeachment. So they are rushing to vote for the president’s popular positions,” he said, adding, “If [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and [Senate Minority Leader Chuck] Schumer keep pressing impeachment, it’s likely the president will get his entire agenda passed and reelected in a landslide.”

Added to the list of accomplishments this week:
* An agreement on a new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal.
* A new budget including more than $1.3 billion for a border wall and blocks a government shutdown.
* House approval of the U.S. Space Force, a brand-new branch of the military.
* Government family leave that will be a model for a proposal for the public.
* Tentative agreement on trade with China.
* Approval of Trump's 50th federal appeals judge.
* Confirmation of a new Food and Drug Administration chief.
* The signing of a pro-Israel anti-Semitism executive order.

TRUMP's BEST WEEK?

Hidden by impeachment: One of Trump’s 'best weeks yet'

While the media and his critics focused on the bitterly divided House impeachment hearings, President Trump this week collected the most agenda wins yet, policy victories, including some backed by Democrats, that bolster arguments he’s making for reelection, according to advisers and analysts.

  • An agreement on a new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal.
  • A new budget including more than $1.3 billion for a border wall and blocks a government shutdown.
  • House approval of the U.S. Space Force, a brand-new branch of the military.
  • Government family leave that will be a model for a proposal for the public.
  • Tentative agreement on trade with China.
  • Approval of Trump's 50th federal appeals judge.
  • Confirmation of a new Food and Drug Administration chief.
  • The signing of a pro-Israel anti-Semitism executive order.

“There is one world where the mainstream media is covering impeachment, but there is another world where Trump is racking up a myriad of accomplishments, many of which have the support of the same Democrats who want to remove him from office,” said political communications strategist Ron Bonjean.

A GOP adviser said, “President Trump and the Republicans are an irresistible force surging over, around, and through the gelatinous Democrats — a growing number of whom are realizing daily that what they're doing is seen by the public as trivial and senseless. Just think of what could be accomplished for our country if the loony Left wasn't so obsessed with destroying Trump.”

Trump biographer Doug Wead also took note of the president’s actions in the shadow of impeachment.

“Perhaps, for now, what he accomplished this week will be overshadowed by the impeachment, but by next summer, the impeachment may be seen as mean-spirited and partisan, and the string of victories will add to his incredible list of victories going into reelection season,” he said.

Wead, who spent months inside the White House interviewing the president and top aides, said that he hadn’t been surprised by Trump’s aggressive fight on impeachment and his campaign to rack up wins.

“During impeachment, any other president would retreat into the bunker and be consumed with defense. Endlessly gaming various scenarios. Instead, Trump, the businessman, is looking for a way to use it to his advantage,” he said.

On Thursday - the day after Democrats delivered impeachment articles to the Senate - Donald Trump’s Presidential Approval Index rating turned positive for the first time in nine months, Rasmussen Reports’ Daily Presidential Tracking Poll results show.

Trump’s +1 rating in Rasmussen’s Presidential Approval Index reflects 40% of likely U.S. who said they “strongly approve” of the job Pres. Trump is doing and 39% who “strongly disapprove.”

Overall, Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters either “somewhat” or “strongly” approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 47% somewhat or strongly disapprove.

Not since December 5, 2019 – the day House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Democrats would formally proceed with impeachment – have so few voters disapproved of Trump’s performance.

As CNSNews.com reported at the time, Trump’s approval spiked to 52% and disapproval fell to 47%. But, Trump still had a Presidential Approval Index (-2) on December 5, as 40% strongly disapproved and 38% strongly approved of his job performance.

NYT's Maggie Haberman Admits Media Gives ‘Instant Credibility’ To Anti-Trump Voices

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman warned Friday that there was a tendency in media to give “instant credibility” to anyone who came out as anti-Trump.

Haberman appeared on CNN’s “New Day” to discuss the ongoing impeachment of President Donald Trump and the recent interview with indicted Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas, and she noted the importance of evaluating the facts independent of those voices. (RELATED: Maggie Haberman, Ana Navarro And Shaun King Among A Massive List Of Activist Journalists Named On Covington’s Lawsuit)

Host John Berman brought up the fact that Parnas, who recently gave a lengthy interview to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, has argued that he would be a great witness for Senate Republicans because he could tell them what former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter had done wrong with regard to Ukraine.

“It was really interesting because what Parnas was saying, he was actually saying he should be a Republican witness. ‘Republicans should want to talk to me,'” Berman said.

“They do but not for the reasons he thinks,” Haberman replied. “There are some Republicans talking privately about the idea that maybe he wouldn’t be the worst witness for us to call because we could try to hit into his credibility and again for the reasons we just said, there are concerns that he would not be able to hold up.”

Echoing the concerns of CNN anchor Jake Tapper, who warned Thursday that Parnas had a “serious credibility problem,” Haberman continued.

“One of the hallmarks of the Trump era is anybody who is oppositional to Trump gets instant credibility,” she said. “We’ve seen it over and over again. Michael Avenatti, Cohen even at points, even when he was admitting he was lying to Congress at some point after he pleaded guilty to other charges. It’s important to just assess these facts on their own.”

Haberman also warned, as even White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway suggested, that Parnas was simply putting himself out there as a potential witness in the hopes that it might help with his own legal troubles. “Parnas knows what he’s doing. He knows it’s compelling to go on TV saying, ‘I’m here, come take me,'” Haberman explained. “He’s clearly hoping that’s going to help him in his criminal case. I don’t know that it will. If he got called as a witness, it might not go the way he’s describing it. That’s all.”

Gallup Poll: Race Relations See Double-Digit Increase Since Trump Entered White House

But this is never reported in the mainstream

A new Gallup poll indicates that satisfaction with race relations and the position of minorities in America have significantly increased since President Trump took office.

The findings deliver a significant blow to the media-driven fiction that Trump is a racist.

Gallup’s survey demonstrates numerous categories in which the President has improved the lives of Americans since relieving Barack Obama of his duties in January of 2017.

The polling indicates double-digit improvements in how Americans view the nation’s economy, security from terrorism, military strength and … the state of race relations.

Gallup also reports increases in “the position of blacks and other racial minorities, the distribution of income and wealth, and the opportunity for a person to get ahead through hard work.”
