Fukushima : Godzilla-sized fears of a Worsening crisis

Old Fears Emerging from Japan's "collective consciousness"

==========================================================

*Can the following prediction of the "Sinking of Japan" be true?

One of the alternative sources says that the Nuclear incident is FAR WORSE than anyone in the mainstream press is discussing. The result may be that Japan's days as a world power are virtually finished. Those Japanese who can afford it, will soon be emigrating elsewhere. That much will be clear by year end. (I am not at all sure whether to believe this source. Time will tell.)

The current efforts to cover up the worst of the situation, are because officials are afraid to allow the Japanese population to have to face old fears, that have been lurking long in the Japanese consciousness. Those fears were indirectly addressed by bringing them to life in the form on an old film character...

Godzilla - the nuclear-awakened destroyer of Japan.

Godzilla's origins:

Although his origins vary somewhat from film to film, he is always described as a prehistoric creature, who first appeared and attacked Japan at the beginning of the Atomic Age. In particular, mutation due to atomic radiation is presented as an explanation for his size and powers. The most notable of Godzilla's resulting abilities is his atomic breath: a powerful heat ray of fire from his mouth. Godzilla is also depicted as being resistant to damage thanks to a tough hide and an advanced healing factor, which itself became a focal point in Godzilla vs. Biollante and Godzilla 2000. He is portrayed as being strong and dexterous, sometimes utilizing martial arts techniques in combat. Described as a transitional form between aquatic and terrestrial vertebrates in the original film, Godzilla is able to survive in the ocean for indefinite periods of time and is as adept a fighter underwater as he is on land.

A Nuclear disaster from "The Powers that Be"?:

From the Dump the Fringe thread...

One day, the issues discussed in this section will be out in the mainstream, I think.

The JAPAN QUAKE and tsunami may be speeding up that day.

Is BF crazy?

Maybe. Maybe not. Some of his wild ideas seem to be rooted in reality. I do listen to him, because it will be a long time before the mainstream can discuss the idea.

Perhaps it is a bit like Kennedy's Assassination, or 9/11... The conspiracy rumors will grow over time.

No opinion either way, other than this thread was just underneath the "Fukushima : Has Godzilla been awakened ?" thread when I read it.

Ever heard the word "symbolic"?

Why do you suppose Godzilla looms so large in the Japanese consciousness ?

SOME FAIL TO GET THE POINT OF THIS THREAD, I think...

Ah yes, but then there's the story of 'Solar man'

Rocketed to Earth as a child to save him from his dieing planet the radio-active waves from the sun mutated his right hand to over fifty times it's normal size.

Which ................

when you come to think about it ..............

isn't a whole lot of use.

Incidentally,

There are similarites in the character's of Japan's Godzilla and Marvel's 'The Incredicle Hulk' not just from the basics of the stories but from how those stories are told to give the reader/viewer some sort of compassion for the 'monster'. Infact, the Hulk was loosely based on Frankenstein. I don't doubt you could follow the story back further .....................

Lee also compared Hulk to the Golem of Jewish myth.

Whether Godzilla thus translates into that original 'Golem' I'm not sure. Perhaps it's a myth worth reading to investigate?

To add, from a personal observation, stories are pretty much the same the world over though perhaps told in different ways. Hollywood today borrows heavily when making 'super-heroes' from myths, legends and fables from other cultures, manga especially.

"BURY IT!" Michio Kaku On Japan's Fukushima Nuclear Power Plan

Workers struggle to plug leak at Japan nuclear plant

Tokyo (CNN) -- A first attempt to plug a cracked concrete shaft that is leaking highly radioactive water into the ocean off Japan failed Saturday, so officials are now exploring alternatives, spokesmen for Tokyo Electric Power Co. said.

Power plant workers had been trying to fill the shaft with fresh concrete, but that did not change the amount of water coming out of the crack, the spokesmen said at a news conference that ran late into the night Saturday.

Their "plan B" is to use polymers to stop the leak, the spokesmen said. A Tokyo Electric expert will visit the site Sunday morning and decide what polymer to use before the work begins.

Workers will then break the shaft's ceiling and insert the polymer in a different spot from where they tried to place the concrete, they said.

Public anger growing against TEPCO Japan mourns unidentified victims Japan: Trace of plutonium not a threat? Could Japan nuke disaster occur in US?

Water from the 2-meter-deep, concrete-lined basin has been seen escaping into the ocean through a roughly 20-centimeter (8-inch) crack, the company said earlier Saturday. The shaft lies behind the turbine plant of the No. 2 reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, which was heavily damaged in the earthquake and resulting tsunami last month.

Radiation levels in the shaft have been measured at more than 1,000 millisieverts per hour, which is more than 330 times the dose an average resident of an industrialized country naturally receives in a year. Radioactivity above the shaft was measured at 250 millisieverts per hour, said Tokyo Electric, the plant's owner.

Tokyo Electric said it is discussing other methods to use should the polymer fail, but it hasn't identified what those other methods may be.

Regulator Says Radioactive Water Leaking Into Ocean From Japanese Nuclear Plant

HIROKO TABUCHI and KEN BELSON

NY Times / April 2, 2011

TOKYO — Highly radioactive water is leaking directly into the sea from a damaged pit near a crippled reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, safety officials said Saturday.

Japan’s nuclear regulator said that workers discovered a crack about eight inches wide in the pit, which lies between the No. 2 Reactor and the sea and holds cables used to power seawater pumps.

The operator of the plant said that air directly above the water leaking into the sea had a radiation reading of more than 1,000 millisieverts an hour, said Hidehiko Nishiyama, deputy director-general of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency. Although higher levels of radiation have been detected in the ocean waters near the plant, the leak discovered Saturday is the first identified direct leak of such high levels of radiation into the sea. Earlier Saturday, Mr. Nishiyama had said that above-normal levels of radioactive materials were detected about 25 miles south of the Fukushima plant, much further than had previously been reported.

The pit was filled with four to eight inches of contaminated water, said the operator of the plant, Tokyo Electric Power Company. It was unclear where that water was coming from. Highly radioactive water has also been discovered in the reactor’s turbine building in the past week.

Workers will try to patch up the crack with concrete, the company said.

A frightening metaphor indeed.....so how does the film end? From W:

There is only one ending to this film. Both versions of the film end the same way. Kong and Godzilla crash into the ocean, and Kong is the only monster to emerge and swims home. The only differences between the two endings of the film are extremely minor and trivial ones:

* In the Japanese version, as Kong and Godzilla are fighting underwater, a very small earthquake occurs. In the American version, producer John Beck used stock footage of a violent earthquake from the film The Mysterians to make the climactic earthquake seem far more violent and destructive.

* The dialogue is slightly different. In the Japanese version onlookers are speculating that Godzilla might be dead as they watch Kong swim home and speculate that it's possible he survived. In the American version, onlookers simply say, "Godzilla has disappeared without a trace" and newly shot scenes of reporter Eric Carter have him watching Kong swim home on a viewscreen and wishing him luck on his long journey home.

* As the film ends and the screen fades to black, Owari (The End) appears on screen. Godzilla's roar followed by Kong's is on the Japanese soundtrack. This was akin to the monsters' "taking a bow" or saying goodbye to the audience, as at this point the film is over. In the American version, only Kong's roar is present on the soundtrack.

Hmmmm. Who else has read the prediction about half of Japan suddenly ending up underwater (creating a HUMONGOUS tsunami of 1000 ft+) which was preceeded by the eruption of Mt. Fuji?

I am a great believer in our subconcious communicating to us about the world around us through dreams and in creative writing. It is like we can tap into part of ourselves that otherwise remains unknown.

I just located this very unusual citizen journalist video which compares Edgar Cayce‘s predictions from the early 20th century, with recent Japanese motion pictures which predicted in their scripts that Japan, the entire aggregate of Japan’s islands, would soon sink, literally sink beneath the sea. I am not trying to be a doomsday person. I am merely passing along something which I found to be gripping due to the movie’s eerie portrayal of just about the EXACT events which are occurring now in Japan. Art predicts life? Movies predict earth changes?

Did the script writers for this film know about the Edgar Cayce predictions regarding the end times, earth changes related event of the sinking of Japan?

Edgar Cayce also predicted the disappearance of New York City and other parts of the world more than 60 years ago. I found this video to be just downright eerie. Here it is...

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Latest Satellite Imagery From Fukushima Tells Sobering Tale

Friday, April 1, 2011, 4:54 pm, by cmartenson

Noting that the press has largely turned its resources off of the Fukushima complex, and needing up-to-date information on the status of the damage control efforts there, we secured the most up-to-date satellite photo from DigitalGlobe (dated March 31st), which we analyze below. This is the first photo of the damaged reactor site at Japan's Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear facility made available to the public in over a week. That means you, our readers, are the first public eyes anywhere to see this photo.

Drawing upon the expertise of our resident nuclear engineer and Ann Stringer, imaging expert, we conclude that the situation at Fukushima is not stabilized: things are not yet at a place of steady progress in the containment and clean-up efforts. It's still a dance, forwards and backwards, with the workers making gains here and there but the situation forcing them to react defensively all too often.

In this report, we will tell you what we know for sure, what we are nearly certain of, and what we remain forced to speculate about.

Here is a portion of a much larger image (covering 25 square kilometers in total) showing the reactor complex as of March 31, at roughly mid-day

One of the alternative sources says ...Japanese who can afford it, will soon be emigrating elsewhere.

It has begun already !

Headline from Sunday's SCMP:

Fast-track work visa for fleeing Japan executives

Hong Kong snaps up top-ranking professionals in aftermath of quake

+ 270 top execs from Japanese firms have been given work visas in just two weeks

+ A further 300-plus inquiries from professionals have been received

These are the first official confirmations of a trend of emigration from Japan has been initiated

So far the reaction in HK is far from panic:

"These applicants bring economic benefit to Hong Kong. We hope they will consider long-term settlement in Hong Kong."

. . .

"The applicants might decide to go to other countries if we did not provide a speedy approach."

Other executives are said to be fleeing to Taiwan, Australia, and as far away as the US.

Japanese Radiation Mystery: "Where is all the Radiation Coming From?"

Michio Kaku on March 31, 2011, 9:15 PM

Here is a mystery: where is all the radiation coming from at Fukushima?

Since the site is too radioactive to make definitive analyses, physicists and engineers are making educated guesses, and the results are not optimistic.

First, radiation continues to spread, even as the utility claimed that everything was under control. Radiation at unit 2 was recorded at 100,000 normal, so a worker spending 1 hour there would start to come down with radiation sickness. Also, radiation in the sea water 1,000 feet from the site up to a mile from the site have registered thousands of time normal reading.

Now plutonium has been found in trace amounts. The situation gets worse every day. But is the reactor situation is stable, as the utility claims, then were is radiation coming from?

Second, the radiation has both iodine and cesium. Since iodine only has a half life of 8 days, this casts doubt on the spent fuel rods, since iodine has had plenty of time to decay in those spent fuel ponds. Another possibility is a pipe leak. But most likely, it is a breach of containment. This is because radioactive iodine and cesium come from exposed fuel rods that have melted.

Recently, the GE engineer who worked on the Mark I reactor has stated that the source is mostly a core meltdown in unit 2 that has eaten its right through the pressure vessel (which surrounds the super hot core.) This echoes what I have been saying. If he is right, then "corium" (a liquid mixture of melted uranium) has melted its way right through the reactor vessel and is now leaking into the water system below the reactor. So direct contact with melted uranium may be the most likely cause.

Most likely, this means more radiation into the environment, since there is no way stop radioactive water from touching the corium. However, at worst, the molten fuel could plunge into a pool of water and explode, creating the nightmare of Chernobyl.

EXCERPT

Something nearly miraculous occurred to prevent units 1, 2, and 3 from early catastrophic failure. About eight hours after the earthquake Tokyo Electric Company made the decision to pump seawater into the reactors and reactor containment buildings of units 1, 2, 3, and 4. This was a thirty billion dollar decision to destroy these plants beyond all possibility of recovery. This could not have been ordered by their regulators or their government. It would not have been possible for these bodies to make such a decision in this time frame even if asked. Cold salt water on hot stainless steel causes irreparable damage.

The plants are designed to allow, in extremis, seawater to be pumped either directly into the reactor vessel or into the steel containment outside the reactor vessel or into both. The valves are designed to fail in the open position when there is no electricity. Thus seawater was pumped into both to provide cooling to the fuel. They chose to include unit 4 which did not need cooling presumably because the piping systems are inter-connected and they figured there was no way to keep the saltwater completely out of unit 4.

It’s too bad they were unable to keep injecting seawater.

PLANT STATUS

So where does this leave the Fukushima Daiichi plants 1,2, and 3?

Units one and three appear to be getting under control. Their steel containments around the reactor vessel are intact. The widely- viewed pictures showing destruction of the upper part of the reactor building are scary, but this damage does not affect release of radioactivity from the fuel in the reactor.

The status of unit 2 is uncertain. It had a hydrogen explosion inside the steel containment where it could do more important damage than the hydrogen explosions in the secondary containments of units 1 and 3.

Radiation in water rushing into sea tests millions of times over limit

Tokyo (CNN) -- Japanese utility and government authorities suffered fresh setbacks Tuesday with the detection of radiation in a fish and news that water gushing from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant into the Pacific had radiation levels more than millions of times above the regulatory limit.

Readings from samples taken Saturday in the concrete pit outside the turbine building of the plant's No. 2 reactor -- one of six at the crisis-plagued plant -- had radiation 7.5 million times the legal limits, said an official with the Tokyo Electric Power Company, which runs the plant. Newer findings, from Tuesday afternoon, showed a sizable drop to 5 million times the norm.

The utility company also noted Tuesday that the radiation levels diminished sharply a few dozen meters from the leak, consistent with their assessment that the spill might have a minimal effect on sealife. But even in these spots, radiation levels remained several hundred-thousand times the legal limit.

The entire issue underlined that getting a grip on how to minimize the amount of radiation in the Pacific Ocean is the new, primary battlefront in the weeks-long crisis at the nuclear plant.

Pacific Ocean will dilute toxic waters U.S. city helps sister city in Japan Tsunami survivors in limbo Radiation fears slow Japan's economy

About the same time as the Tokyo Electric news, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said the presence of radioactive iodine "in one sample of fresh fish" prompted authorities to regulate the radiation in seafood for the first time.

While fishing has been forbidden within 20 kilometers (12 miles) of Fukushima Daiichi, there had been no restrictions on seafood, as there were for some vegetables and milk from certain locales. Now, the same radiation standards that apply to vegetables will apply to ocean products as well.

"The "provisional ingestion limit, equivalent to vegetables and applied to fish and shellfish, will take effect immediately," the Cabinet minister said.

Earlier Tuesday, Edano apologized for the decision to intentionally dump 11,500 tons of radioactive water into the sea -- all part of the effort to curb the flow of the more toxic liquid spotted days ago rushing from outside the No. 2 unit.

The process of expelling contaminated water in the plant's water treatment facility and around several of its reactors began Monday and will take five days, a Tokyo Electric official said.

"The water contains a high level of radiation," Edano said of the liquid being dumped into the Pacific. "We are sorry for this decision we have to make."

The most contaminated batches of this water comes from outside the No. 6 reactor, likely having gotten in via groundwater (and not a breach in the unit itself), officials said. It has a concentration of iodine-131 that would be 100 times more than the maximum amount of tap water that infants could drink, and 10 times more than what would be OK in food.

Overall, the dump equates to about 3 million gallons, notes Gary Was, a nuclear engineering professor from the University of Michigan.

Yet Hidehiko Nishiyama, an official with Japan's nuclear and industrial safety agency, said, "We've decided that discharging the contaminated water into the sea poses no major health hazard."

Japan may well break apart and some places be regained by the sea. Same goes for any other place in geological history. Weren't Africa and S. America once attached? Russia and Alsaka? Atlantis and ??

To say that the Japs are being punished by a wrathful god for being 'athiests' or materialistic is absolute horse****.

Any omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent god would carefully select out the wheat from the chaff IMO, christian believers or not(and I hope he does one day- I can think of a few unworthy souls, christian or not, I wouldn't mind being cast into 'hell').

This is simply natural, geological phenomenon. Ditto super volcanoes. I suppose the same logic goes that for the victims of the Sumatra quake (100,000 odd) it was condoned by this great christian god because they were mostly Moslems or Hindus/ non Christian god fearing crusaders. Yea! Is it so simple to be 'saved' by an insurance policy in the belief in 'god', I wonder?

Commit it, and other BS, to the flames as it is mere sophisty and illusion.

On Tsunami matters a 700 foot tsunami could only come about by some sort of cosmic disaster/asteroid impact hitting the ocean from outer space. We may well go the way of the dinosaurs but I dont think it will be god induced-though others may make you feel so.

In the meantime have a nice coffee and enjoy the weather, it might be our last. So be it.

Furthermore, I have met more people of good 'christian-like' values, who are non christians that it beggars belief they would be singled out for 'punishment' because their only fault was to be born in a non christian culture. Any organized religion, IMHO, is simply dogma of the worst and simplest kind.

Hark at this crock!

Jacobs: God is using earthquake to break Japan’s pagan idolatry

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Like her close colleague Chuck Pierce, who yesterday declared that the earthquake and tsunami in Japan was an attempt by God to topple "a stronghold of spiritism," Cindy Jacobs weighs in on the tragedy to declare that Japan has always been a "hard group for the gospel" because it was rooted in idolatry - even the island itself "looks like the head of a dragon" - and so God is trying to shake the nation because "the Holy Spirit wants to breathe the wind of revival across Japan and bring a mighty spiritual awakening to the land of the rising sun with healing in His wings":

I have personally felt that one of the reasons Japan was such a hard group for the gospel was the fact that they have had a direct link with the Imperial family and a direct link with the sun goddess, Amaterasu.

After the end of the second world war, under the U.S. agreements with Japan, this connection with Amaterasu was renounced. It is hard for those in the western world to understand the connection idolatry had with the suicide bombers in WWll as try dedicated their lives to the Emperor and this principality. After the nation no longer had this idolatrous connection, Japan flourished economically.

However, of recent years, this link with Amaterasu and sun worship was reinstated in a ceremony in which the new Emperor once again participated and "spent the night with the goddess" after eating the sacred rice.

I believe this is one major reason that Japan has gone downhill economically in such a drastic way. The debt ratio to GDP is now 200%. With the earthquake and subsequent tsunami, the economy and banking system, insurance industry, etc., will certainly take a massive hit.

In the early nineties, the Lord gave me a prophecy for Japan that it was a "sickle in the hand of the Lord" that will be used for great harvest. The physical geography of the islands look like a curved sickle with the handle being the island of Hokkaido in the north. One could also say that it looks like a curved sword. Where Japan has historically been a sword of war across Asia. I see God raising up young revivalists from the nation who will impact Asia and the world for the gospel.

On the other hand, if you look at it another way, this island, Hokkaido, looks like the head of a dragon with the body being the rest of Japan. The people of Asia have worshipped the dragon for 5,000 years. If one looks at the place where the earthquake took place, it looks like the soft underbelly of most vulnerable part of the dragon. Let's pray that the deep idolatry and the worship of hundreds of idols under the guise of Shintoism, Buddhism, and allegiances to being "sons of the dragon" will be broken and thousands will turn to the Lord.

My interpretation of this is that while God did not want people to perish, He is going to use this to "pierce" the darkness surrounding the Japanese people if we will cry out to God for them in the midst of this crisis ... If we respond correctly, the darkness and the grip of idolatry of all forms that has blinded the eyes of so many in Japan will be broken off of them. The faithful believers in Jesus Christ will be strengthened as they are used for great harvest across Asia and the face of the earth.

The 21st century (this time around), & still there are millions who are yet to question if there really is a guy at heaven's gate asking to see their membership card & contribution record.

Mindless fundamentalism. It's almost reassuring to be reminded that it isn't just a muslim thing!

She personifies the godhead too no doubt. Highish intellect (can string the sentences together), but low intelligence, thus no inner understanding = ideal preacher.

Maybe if they were patted on the head whilst being gently corralled? Then shipped off as a group to an uninhabited island, along with their followers. - Always beware of followers. If you stood up in front of Cindy's followers & told them that everyone was god & it was about time they each took responsibility for it, how long before you were nailed to a tree? Any bets?

Jake, how are the essential supplies at your end?

My best wishes to you.

His prediction had nothing to do with the God they worshipped. It had to do with the Japanese islands being positioned on a volatile part of the ring of fire, where the plates could crack.

It is far too easy to blame the victim, esepcially in matters of religion.

By the massive earthquakes of Magnitude 9 and surreal massive tsunamis, more than 10,000 people are still missing…even now… It has been 16 days already since the disaster happened. What makes it worse is that water at the reactors of Fukushima Nuclear Plants started to leak, and it’s contaminating the ocean, air and water molecule of surrounding areas.

Human wisdom has not been able to do much to solve the problem, but we are only trying to cool down the anger of radioactive materials in the reactors by discharging water to them.

Is there really nothing else to do?

I think there is. During over twenty year research of hado measuring and water crystal photographic technology, I have been witnessing that water can turn positive when it receives pure vibration of human prayer no matter how far away it is.

Energy formula of Albert Einstein, E=MC2 really means that Energy = number of people and the square of people’s consciousness.

Now is the time to understand the true meaning. Let us all join the prayer ceremony as fellow citizens of the planet earth. I would like to ask all people, not just in Japan, but all around the world to please help us to find a way out the crisis of this planet!!

The prayer procedure is as follows.

Name of ceremony:

“Let’s send our thoughts of love and gratitude to all water in the nuclear plants in Fukushima”

Day and Time:

March 31st, 2011 (Thursday)

12:00 noon in each time zone

Please say the following phrase:

“The water of Fukushima Nuclear Plant,

we are sorry to make you suffer.

Please forgive us. We thank you, and we love you.”

Please say it aloud or in your mind. Repeat it three times as you put your hands together in a prayer position. Please offer your sincere prayer.

Thank you very much from my heart.
