  1. Really sad to see this sort of thing happening now... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Silver-bullion-bar-1-troy-ounce-/190529093838?pt=UK_Coins_Bullion_Bars_SM&hash=item2c5c6b40ce
  2. Just had a look on Sarnia for a laugh. They are selling 5 x 1oz (avoirdupois) lots of copper rounds for £17.99 That's pretty much the same amount of copper you get in 40p worth of pre-1992 two pence peices. Nuts. Who buys this crap?
  3. Congrats on your call so far Learner. This thing can turn on a sixpence though! Despite being heavily in physical which I won't trade, I would not be dissapointed to see the early 20's again. Sold out my miners too soon and want to get back in! The cheaper the better.
  4. Yeah. Some 3ds and 6ds issued in 1920 are sterling. No way to tell them apart for sure though. All shillings and higher from 1920 are .500.
  5. I've noticed the same thing. Competition is getting a bit more fierce and bargains are becoming few and far between. Interestingly I've been checking some of the other European ebay sites for old silver coins and it looks like they are paying even higher premiums than UK bidders. Especially on ebay.fr. British/Indian silver rupees are getting pretty high prices on ebay India. I was picking these up for around £3 for ages up until a couple of months ago. Lovely coins too. Still getting some good results on 50's, 60's and 70's silver though. Got a bucket load of 1966 500 Lire coins now all purchased at a fair amount below bullion value.
  6. Hi. A little bit now and again. Think the fees reduce if you're selling a high value of stuff. I anticipate holding this metal for many years to come though. Seen Eagles going for circa £24 lately which is nuts considering what they were just a few short months ago!
  7. Yeah. Brought them back as hand luggage. Always declare them French side which has never been a problem. One time the guy was a coin collector himself!!! Never declared or been stopped UK side but pretty sure it's OK as it's always been small amounts of currency - maples, phillies, ASE's etc.
  8. Looks like Sarnia have really lost the plot on pricing. £14 for those halves is a joke. Also CID have reached their VAT limit for France - had been getting a lot sent there. So having to resort to ebay only now. Some good deals on world silver to be had if you bid on enough stuff. Picked up a couple of Brits today for £21 each also which I guess constitutes a bit of a bargain these days.
  9. Hi, After some advice re bring silver into the UK. Have bought some coins from CID and had them shipped to a friends address in France to save a bit. Will there be any issues with him bringing them into the UK for me next time he visits? Will there be VAT to pay if declared?
