Why can't we print money to build infrastructure

you don't use threats of violence to force people to use a currency for their own benefit. you do it so you can steal from them. the whole purpose of fiat is theft.

    Which Cambridge really leads ??

as with Oxford, the central university is quite poor, and (some of) the colleges are extremely wealthy. the colleges are generally against any centralisation of power within the uni.

Gold versus Silver: coming off the Top ?

not sure I'd credit this thread with any predictive power whatsoever. metals have fallen, but not for the reasons mentioned in the opening post a month ago: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/case-closed-cme-hikes-gold-silver-copper-margins

    UK Long term inflation

RPI isn't inflation. also, you may find that the methodology used to calculate RPI has changed over that time, in which case is isn't even a consistent measure of whatever it's supposed to be measuring.

a free market. anything else is theft and/or rape. no, it was a great example of what happens when the state has been in command of a huge chunk of the economy for several decades. I haven't noticed any cessation of enforcement of VAT payments, fuel duty, legal tender laws or planning permissions in the last two days. for the last two days, the state has been nicking people's wealth at the same rate as before, whilst not protecting people from hooligans and simultaneously denying people of the means to defend themselves.

both, but predominantly the latter. most of looting is done by those at the very top of this bag of cr4p some call 'society'. yeah, it was looting and hit&run this time, no? yeah, the papers are at it already.

Serious Civil Unrest in the UK

having 16,000 polis on the streets doing sweet FA as opposed to having 6,000 on the streets doing sweet FA does nothing to stop the looting & arson, but does make the situation appear more serious when reported in the MSM. the PM canceling his holiday does nothing to stop the looting & arson, but does make the situation appear more serious when reported in the MSM. recalling Parliament does nothing to stop the looting & arson, but does make the situation appear more serious when reported in the MSM. the 6,000 polis out last night could have easily interrupted the 2 hour looting of Debenhams, but their masters didn't want them to.

I haven't distorted your words. the US clearly CAN printy printy and the 'political force' that you speak of is not real, it's a figment of your imagination.

it's not 'supporting fragile markets'; it's bailing out malinvestments using stolen wealth. to QE or not to QE is a decision taken by people whose remuneration is reliant upon QE (banksters and politicos), so printy printy to infinity it is.

Has the Commodities Bull Market peaked?

one of us is fantasising, and it isn't me. you suggest in 100 years a barrel of oil will be merely a few hundred USDs. do you realise how f****** stupid that sounds... in the last hundred years, the dollar price of oil has risen more than a hundred fold [data] that means that EVEN IF the USA wasn't bankrupt, and EVEN IF the current fiat regime wasn't on death's door, and the banksers somehow miraculously carried on with their 'business as usual' as per the last 100 years, oil prices in excess of USD 10,000 could be expected in 100 years' time. take out those 2 untrue if clauses, and take into account oil production 'issues', and well...

Has the Commodities Bull Market peaked?

doing quite badly in China last I heard: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/investing/8589806/Anthony-Bolton-Its-been-a-disappointing-year.html yes, we will see the dollar back at 1/147th of a barrel. then 1/200th then 1/300th etc.

    HYPERINFLATION

arse. elbow. The Bank of England was formed in 1694 to institutionalize fractional-reserve banking. ... Then, the inevitable happened: There was a run on the bank, and the Bank of England could not produce the coin. ... The Cabal is a partnership, and each of the two groups is committed to protect each other, not out of loyalty, but out of mutual self interest. They know that, if one falls, so does the other. It is not surprising, therefore, that, when there was a run on the Bank of England, Parliament intervened. In May of 1696, just two years after the Bank was formed, a law was passed authorizing it to "suspend payment in specie." By force of law, the Bank was now exempted from having to honor its contract to return the gold. — G. Edward Griffin; The Creature From Jekyll Island the above also demonstrates how the ponzi of FRB is only kept going by state intervention. btw, FRB is always illegal, because it is fraud, but laws don't always apply to the politically-favoured.

    HYPERINFLATION

it is not possible for another poster to falsify these statements as you have already admitted these are merely your opnions. insult all you like. it just indicates that you have no logic or rational argument to make. the bankers NEED the regulation. without legal tender laws and bank licensing (and bailouts!) they cannot exist. well of course. regulation, as with state intervention in general, is by the elites and for the elites. that is true. at the moment, the US gov't steals american people's money and hands quite a large chunk of the loot over to the bankers. remove the bakers from the loop, and the gov't will likely steal just as much from the people and the politicos will keep the loot themselves. ordinary person gains nothing, as they are still being stolen from.
