  1. Man, I so appreciate where you are coming from! I try to be funny all the time and just come across as a complete tit. ..........actually maybe there's a reason for that
  2. I think you'll find JPY is even stronger than the dollar. Japan and the US have had very low interest rates for the past several years so people borrow from there and invest it in another country with higher, but still safe yields. When JPY and USD get stronger, however, you lose money.
  3. I see a lot of these tossers talking about Bretton Woods, but none of them mention gold. My suspicion is that they want to replace sovreign control of the reserve currency with control by an international body( read IMF). As far as I know this was what Keynes originally hoped for as he was no fan of the automatic discipline of gold. Our only hope is that the Asians and the Russians are so distrustful of the IMF that they will never allow that to happen. It will only be the countries burned most by the bankers that would willingly give up much of their power and return to the discipline of the gold standard. At the moment I can't imagine who that would be.
  4. Is it possible gold is being dumped to cover Lehman's CDS positions?
  5. You mean those same mints that are starting to have shortages?
  6. I've heard that there are actually 2 markets for gold, the comex and an asian market that's based on physical rather that 'paper' gold. Is there a website that gives the real time price of the asian market?
  7. you think it's going to drop 9100 pts. Man, that's what I call Bearish!
  8. No, they reopened the gold window at 880 and just hoped noone would notice.
  9. Hello, this is my first ever post on this site, but have you guys seen this on Jesse's Cafe Americain ???? I find the 'you are here' especially interesting I can't help feeling twangs of schadenfreude even though millions of hard working, ordinary people look like they're about to lose everything they thought they owned.
