That would be coldplay. Did they at least have the balls to admit they nicked the melody this time? Or did they just rip off yet another artist to line their own pockets? I think their plagiarism law suit count is now at 4.

Apparently Kraftwerk gave permission. Wonder if they get any royalties?

QUOTE
The band received permission from the electronic music German band Kraftwerk to use the main riff from their song "Computer Love" (German: Computerliebe), from their 1981 studio LP Computer World (German: Computerwelt), for "Talk", replacing Kraftwerk's synthesizers with guitars.

wow - i didn't know that; I am used to hearing Kraftwerk inspired synth-pop, but it makes a change to hear their stuff inspiring a guitar band

their re-working of Beethoven's 9th symphony was nothing short of genius

From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B_r5rVU5rw

edit - someone on yt says it's not Beethoven but Dvoraks' New World / but i think they're wrong as there are definitely elements of Beethoven's 9th symphony in this.

as was their work with ian brown (the video for 'be there' is a spine chiller!)

Yep a very dark piece, perfect for the film it was used in.

The verve must have got the idea for the bitter-sweet symphony video from the massive attack unfinished sympathy vid, but with added attitude!

wrt, to film scores, here are two of my favs...

lol, i like the dark stuff but i also like bitter sweet melodies and the sublime sound of outstanding vocal harmonies e.g. Vide cor Meum

keeping the soundtrack theme going, here's a couple of moody ones....
