I called ATS Bullion earlier and they want to charge me £63 per 1/10 Ounce coin. Why are they charging so much?

One reason smaller bullion coins are dearer than 1 oz coins is because of the cost of fabrication, i.e., it probably costs near enough the same to mint a 1/10 oz coin as it does for a 1 oz coin. Another reason might be if you are buying a small amount - the more you buy the better rate you can get. But that price is a hefty 35% over the spot price. You can buy 1 oz krugerrands for about 4% over spot, but you'd probably have to be spending several thousand pounds.

ATS seem to have a fixed deal charge which they add to the spot price of a coin, this makes buying small coins from them expensive, other dealers charge a % above spot per deal, for example, coinsinvestdirect are at £54.63 this morning and Goldline £56.00

I can sell you krugerrands at 3% above spot price anytime. If purchasing 5 to 9 I can do them for 2% above spot. If purchasing 10 or more I will sell at 1% above spot. My email is gold.standard.trading@googlemail.com if you are interested.
