A-frame for hydroponics
What is an A-Frame?

An A-Frame is a piece of agricultural equipment consisting of a metal support frame, growing beds and water-nutrient supply piping. There are 2 types of frames - LETTUCE and MINT - and GROWING GREENS is promoting the sale of both. You can purchase a complete A-Frame from Pegasus Agriculture which is then yours and a Certificate of Ownership is issued.

The frame will be placed in a Hydroponic farm in either Oman or the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and is fully managed by Gardinia Hydroponic Farming (GHF). Produce is sold at a fixed contract price to local wholesalers and there is no need for your involvement. Simply buy a frame or frames, relax and enjoy the passive income.

Case Study of the Pegasus Agriculture Investment in Oman: Reviews

April 19, 2017/

in Blog /by fjpinvestment

FJP have discovered a truly remarkable investment opportunity which enables an investor significant benefits for the resources invested within the business. The cost of each Hydroponic A-Frame is just $50,000 included in the investment is a number of benefits such as quarterly rental payments at the rate of 12% per annum.

The Pegasus Agriculture investment is perfect for any investor seeking a fixed income from a company that has an audited track record of delivering above average returns for the past 3 years.

All of the income payments will be paid quarterly from the point of making your investment, for example, you start receiving income just 90 days after taking up the offer and funds being received, in addition, Pegasus Agriculture Group offers 3 very secure exit options:

Option 1: 5 year sell back

You can sign a 5 year sell back agreement with Pegasus Agriculture Group at the point of purchase – this allows you to lock-in a fixed purchase price at a fixed date and time in the future.

Option 2 : The Re-Sale Option

You may ask Pegasus Agriculture Group to resell at any time –the resale is conducted through the online portal, Pegasus will charge 5% as a resale fee. From experience, Pegasus say this is currently a 4-6 week turnaround.

Option 3 : Sell it freely as you wish

As the owner of the A-Frames, you can resell them when you wish to any third party, you will of course have to inform Pegasus Agriculture Group so that they may draft the relevant transfer forms. You will also be able to use the same Escrow that Pegasus use, if you so wish.

The Hydroponics industry is vitally important for food security in the Middle East and North Africa. Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without using soil, when you grow plants using soil, nutrients and water are randomly placed, and often plants need to expel a great deal of energy by growing long roots to find water and nutrients, when expelling this energy, the plants growth is not as fast as it could be.

However, when you grow using the Hydroponics method, the plants take up more nutrients than those grown in soil because the root is only submerged in water and nutrients, this ensures the plants growth rate is 300 times faster.

Hydroponics Facts

  • Uses 80% less water than traditional agriculture
  • 300% quicker growth cycle
  • 30% more nutrients than traditional agriculture
  • 25 days from seed to full size ice berg lettuce
  • Yields 1000% more produce from the same amount of land as traditional agriculture
  • Locally produced
  • No imports
  • Produced at a fraction of the cost of traditional agriculture

Pegasus Agriculture Group build huge automated, temperature controlled greenhouses, the optimum growing temperature is 22° for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The greenhouses themselves are wrapped in a clear polyester film so the sunlight can reach the plants during the day. With 12 hours of natural light coming in, there is no need to use lamps or lights.

The key to the success Pegasus Agriculture Group have had is that they have developed and patented their own growing technology. The A-Frame system is 15 metres in length, 2.5 meters high and 2 metres wide, this is the very equipment that allows Pegasus to grow so much produce, each A-Frame is able to produce around 7 tonnes of produce per year.

"each A-Frame is able to produce around 7 tonnes of produce per year"

The numbers the company provides, look like this:

Why Your Lettuce Prices Have Gone Up (recently)
May 10, 2017

You love lettuce. Nature is doing everything she can to keep up.

That’s the short version of the story. California was in dire need of rain, and when it came, it came hard, and at the worst possible time. Just as the iceberg lettuce seeds were going in the ground in Salinas Valley, California got the rain it desperately needed. The rains were so heavy, many seeds were washed away. By the time the soil dried enough to start over, there was no way to plant enough lettuce to keep up with the massive demand.

The good news is, you and your friends are eating healthy. You love lettuce. A lot. The very temporary tough news is, supplies are tight. In addition to the challenges faced in the fields for iceberg lettuce, romaine and mixed leaf supplies are tight. Temperatures have been warmer than usual, which has caused an increase in insects, and then those rains came.

At Fresh City Market, we work behind the scenes to stay on top of situations like this. We are in continuous contact with farms in our area, and across the country, so we can keep prices low and fair. More importantly, we have strict quality control to make sure the produce you buy is fresh and delicious. Anything less would be sacrificing the promise we made to you. Like any commodity from gasoline to coffee beans, we have times when supply just cannot keep up with demand. Our buyers and growers are confident this temporary and prices should settle down.

WATER SAVINGS is an important benefit of hydroponics

The most convincing reason for embracing hydroponics in the MENA region is its water efficiency.

For instance; when growing lettuce in hydroponics, the grower will be saving around 90 per cent as the water is recycled. With tomatoes, you can save between 40 and 60 per cent.

hydroponics-cultivation-consultancy.jpg?

Another factor that makes hydroponic veggies easy to sell is that they can be grown close to the market distributor, says Pegasus Agriculture. As a perishable product, long distance transportation may damage and lower market value of the product. Moreover, having the product located near the consumer can considerably reduce transportation and other related cost.

OTHER Advantages - beyond Water savings: "Self-sustaining city-based food systems"

Continued innovation of hydroponic cultivation systems will allow us to maximize harvests and to effectively cut down carbon footprint. Also the hydroponic facilities are generally located in urban areas and reducing the need for long haul transportation resulting in a drastic reduction in carbon footprint.

Hydroponic systems do not require pesticides, require less water and space than traditional agricultural systems, and may be stacked in order to limit space use. This makes them optimal for use in cities; where space is particularly limited and populations are high. Self-sustaining city-based food systems mean a reduced strain on distant farms, the reduction of habitat intrusions, fewer food miles, and fewer carbon emissions.

right-nutrients-for-hydroponics-660x400.

Environmental benefits of hydroponics are numerous, including conservation of water from recycling reservoirs and less use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.

Urban hydroponic farming does not create the type of chemical run-off into our streams, rivers and lakes being generated by industrial farming that is generating lasting environmental damages. Hydroponics farming causes much lesser carbon footprint than the conventional methods as the technique does not necessitate large quantity of chemicals or fertilizers.

Hydroponics as a Business

I. What is hydroponics

Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without the use of soil. It is also known as “Soil-less culture”. The term hydroponics comes from the Greek for growing plants in water, hydros means water and Ponos means work.

In traditional agriculture where plants are grown in soil, nutrients and water exist randomly, and often plants need to expend a great deal of energy to grow long roots to search for water and nutrients. By expending this energy, plants do not grow as fast as they could. However, because the nutrients are all around the roots in a hydroponic system, a plant doesn’t have to expand any energy growing long roots in search of it. This enables plants to grow much faster. In addition, growing plants in hydroponics requires less water, less space, and pests and diseases are more easily controlled and prevented.

II. The advantage of hydroponics

1. Save the land. We can plant any where , even the roof top.

2. Save the water 85 %.

3. Save the labor.

4. Save the fertilizer 80 % .

5. Save the pesticide, friendly of the environment .

6. High production.

7. Product harmony. Little waste.

8. High quality and more safety.

9. All the growing conditions can be controlled.

III. Why invest in hydroponics

Few things provide such a solid and secure investment as food. All people need to eat, and with a burgeoning global population, food shortages, and rising prices, all investments in the food industry are going to do well. Investing in hydroponics is a way of maximizing any investment in food.Hydroponic systems do not suffer the same vulnerabilities that investing in field crops do, such as bad weather, disease and land shortage there is less risk compared to regular agricultural produce.

As hydroponic crops are grown in controlled, automated environments, weather systems and unforeseen climatic conditions do not affect the growth rate, while pests and other problems are much easier to prevent. In addition, for the same land mass, hydroponic yields are 1000% greater than traditional agriculture. And the yields are stable, with the same amount of produce being produced year-on-year. As such, offering unrivaled returns compared to other aspects of the food industry.

IV.Main components for hydroponics

1.modern greenhouse and facilities equipment

  • The fertilizer needed is mixed in three tank and called ABC. They are mixed in the tank proportionally as per the age and needs of the plants.
  • PH and EC measuring tools are necessary to maintain the PH level.

V. What service we can provide

-- complete hydroponics solution

  1. Project planning and design
  2. Modern greenhouse and facilities equipment
  3. Intelligent control system
  4. hydroponic facilities(growing bed, growing gutter ,etc)
  5. Water and fertilizer management system(irrigation system, precise fertilization system)
  6. Growing material(substrate, seed, nutrient solution )
  7. Hydroponics technology support, guidance and training.

Thanks for posting this.

I looked at these a couple of years ago. The numbers look good but:

1. I couldn't get enough information to assess credit risk

2. political/geographical risk was of concern

3. legal rights of enforcement were close to non-existent.

Cheers
